Ceremonial spoon

Bronze incense spoon, richly decorated with figurative scenes with religious motifs. On the inside of the leaf are depicted, separated by a column. The Last Supper of the Lord and the Mount of Olives with the kneeling Christ and the sleeping apostles. On the outside are scenes of the Adoration of the Magi and the Descent of the Holy Spirit. The end of the handle with plastic figures forms the scene of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary and the shaft is crushed with a spiral relief of Calvary (Stations of the Cross). Artistic and historical analysis of the relief indicates its origin in the environment of the mint in Jáchymov or in its sphere of influence. Replica, probably from the mid-19th century, based on an unpreserved model from the mid-16th century.
